The Rings of Power Season 3 release date and schedule

The Rings of Power Season 3: Release Date, Episode Schedule, Cast & Season 2 Recap

The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power Season 3 arrives on Prime Video on Wednesday, November 11, 2026, with the first four episodes. The full season is eight episodes, released over just three weeks, and it finally reaches the moment the whole show has been building to: the forging of the One Ring. Here’s the schedule, who’s in it, and what you need to remember from Season 2.

Rings of Power Season 3 release date and episode schedule

Instead of one episode a week like before, Season 3 drops in three batches, all on Wednesdays:

Date Episodes
Wednesday, November 11, 2026 Episodes 1–4
Wednesday, November 18, 2026 Episodes 5–6
Wednesday, November 25, 2026 Episodes 7–8 (finale)

That means the whole season is done by Thanksgiving week, which makes it an easy pick for a long holiday weekend.

What time does Rings of Power Season 3 come out?

Amazon hasn’t announced an exact release time yet. Prime Video usually makes new episodes of its big shows available at a set time worldwide, which lands on the evening before in the US. We’ll update this section as soon as the time is confirmed. Until then, the safest bet is to check the Prime Video app on the night of November 10.

Where to watch

Season 3 streams only on Prime Video, included with an Amazon Prime membership or a standalone Prime Video subscription. Seasons 1 and 2 are on Prime Video too if you want to catch up first.

What is Season 3 about?

Season 3 jumps five years ahead of the Season 2 finale. In that time, Sauron’s forces have taken large parts of Middle-earth, and the Elves are holding on with the help of their three rings. The season covers the height of the war between the Elves and Sauron, and the forging of the One Ring, the ring at the centre of the original Lord of the Rings story.

The time jump is a smart move: it skips the slow build-up and drops viewers straight into the biggest war of the Second Age.

Season 2 recap: what to remember

  • Eregion fell. Sauron, disguised as Annatar, used Celebrimbor to make the Rings of Power, then destroyed the Elven city.
  • Celebrimbor died at Sauron’s hands, and Sauron took the Nine Rings meant for the kings of Men.
  • Adar was killed by his own orcs, who turned to Sauron.
  • Númenor changed rulers. Pharazôn took the throne from Queen Míriel.
  • King Durin III died in Khazad-dûm, and the Balrog stirred beneath the mountain.
  • The Stranger found his name: Gandalf.
  • Galadriel survived her fight with Sauron, still holding her ring.

Is there a Season 4?

Not yet. As of late October 2026, Amazon had not renewed The Rings of Power for a fourth season. With the One Ring forged this season, Season 3’s finale could set up a much bigger final war, if the show continues.
